Are you passionate about using your nursing skills in a fast paced and dynamic role?  In this temporary position, reporting to the Team Leader, Health and Wellness Site Services, you will assure the quality, integrity and value of health services while working with an interdisciplinary team of Occupational Health and Safety professionals.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support other medical providers in all health initiatives pertaining to employees and contractors working on Suncor sites and/or lodges
  • Provide services including health surveillance programs, health evaluations, initial first aid treatment, modified work, education, health promotion, disease prevention and disability case management
  • Collect and analyze comprehensive medical information and apply professional discernment with mentorship on complex issues
  • Act as an authority on occupational health and applicable provincial regulations and codes for your area of practice
  • Communicate and consult with healthcare professionals, management and workers
  • Provide specialty education and training as required
  • Providing clinical and emergency response care and treatment to ill and inured employees and contractors
  • Maintain confidential medical records

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three years of nursing experience
  • Post-secondary education in Nursing
  • An active (and in good standing) registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
  • CPR level C, Audiometry and Spirometry certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Experience in health surveillance testing and programs
  • Occupational Nurse certificate and registration with an association
  • Deep understanding and proficiency in industrial first aid or clinical settings
  • Computer proficiency and experience with SAP, Medgate GX2 and the Microsoft Office suite 
  • Proven collaboration and continuous improvement skills in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • The ability to hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
  • Advanced First Aid Course (ITLS)
  • Previous experience in an Industrial, Emergency and/or Critical care setting
  • Move the Audio and spiro certification from the must have to the preference for section

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Fort Hills location
  • This is a 7 day on/7 day off/7 nights on/ 7 nights off schedule
  • This is a temporary position
