Sr. Product Manager, Global Business Payments, US Deposit Products & Regulatory Oversight - Toronto, ON

 

Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Global Business Payments in North America ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Responsible for managing Global Business Payment’s US-based deposit product portfolio to drive revenue, growth and customer satisfaction by:
    • Analyzing customer, product and competitive data, identify trends and execute opportunities to improve product profitability, net interest income and non-interest revenues, and reduce costs
    • Evaluating and developing potential new products, system enhancements, trends, positioning alternatives, and product distribution systems
    • Identifying product education needs and deliver multi-channel programs for business line sales teams to accelerate sales growth and meet customer needs
    • Contributing to the development of the strategic direction of the business and preparing compelling business cases documenting the business concept and cost/benefit and obtain executive approval
    • Supporting Senior Leadership team as a subject matter expert (i.e., periodic commentary and insights, product reviews, business reviews, strategic review sessions, etc.)
    • Ensuring products are performing as expected and resolving issues that arise in a timely manner with updates to partners and escalations to management as required
    • Determining where product gaps may exist with respect to customer needs, competitive offerings, and trends
  • Relationship Management and Communication 
    • Managing partner, business line, sales and vendor relationships for the portfolio 
    • Collaborating with the Technology, Sales, Pricing, AML, Risk and Compliance teams to articulate the product vision, including the customer impacts, business/stakeholder value, system dependencies and technological processes
    • Effectively communicating product updates through publication channels to ensure effective delivery of new and/or enhanced products, programs, and processes to the sales teams 
    • Understanding the voice of the customer and front-line staff to improve product quality and implement system enhancements
    • Overseeing the product marketing and communications for customers and staff
    • Providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to partners as required 
  • Regulatory Oversight and Compliance
    • Ensuring regulatory oversight across the entire deposit portfolio (e.g., CDIC compliance, LIBOR replacement, implementing CORRA/SOFR benchmark rates, DSP certification etc.) 
    • Leading and end-to-end management of the regulatory initiatives for the US and Canadian Deposit products
    • Identifies, assesses, and resolves highly complex issues and interdependencies across the entire deposit portfolio – including and not limited to product, channel, processes, systems, regulatory and compliance requirements 
    • Leading cross-functional working sessions, engaging partners and stakeholders for managing and resolving risk, legal and compliance related issues and interdependencies
  • Review financials, key performance indicators, and trends for:
    • Determining key product opportunities and resolving issues
    • Owning the P&L of the product
    • Recommending business objectives based on data
    • Working with partners and operations teams to drive revenues and improve efficiencies
    • Maintaining a high-quality market intelligence program including the competitive landscape, customer needs, and external stakeholder management
  • Manage and develop a team by:
    • Recruiting and developing high potential candidates
    • Driving team goals and objectives with timely feedback and support
    • Providing guidance, coaching, and training to direct reports and assigned project teams 
    • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 
We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Master’s degree in business/commerce or relevant industry and functional experience 
  • 5+ years of business banking or cash management experience in product management or sales role 
  • Thorough knowledge of the Business Financial Services marketplace and solid understanding of deposit products/services, associated banking applications and processes
  • Detailed understanding of financials with prior P&L management experience and data analytical skills
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Experience developing strong presentations, strategic plans and business cases
  • Strong problem solver with ability to influence and inspire a cross-functional team to reach ambitious goals
  • Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners and external vendors
  • Thorough knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures and their relationships within the Bank
  • In-depth knowledge of outside market and competitive products
