We are hiring up to two (2) FT Temporary Storeman positions for up to 5 months, working out of Edmonton, AB.

What you’d be responsible for

Reporting to the Manager of Warehousing and Inventory, the Storeman is accountable for, but not limited to:

 

  • Processing sales orders into the Inventory Management system
  • Receiving stock and non-stock items including the physical receiving and entry into the Inventory Management system
  • Coordinating the pre-picking and delivery of materials to site
  • Transferring materials to other EPCOR sites
  • Conducting physical counts of materials
  • Operating stand-up mobile machinery
  • Picking and handling of materials
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics, including:
    • Cycle Count Accuracy
    • Housekeeping
    • Picking Accuracy
  • Completing other day to day Warehouse area duties as required

What’s required to be successful

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role is required.
  • Additional education in inventory or supply chain management considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Oracle Inventory or a similar inventory or materials management system is an asset.
  • Experience working and knowledge of Basic Materials Management practices in both a Yard and Warehouse.
  • Experience in a receiving role would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Be able to use hand tools and ladders in accordance with EPCOR safety standards.
  • Able to meet the physical demands required of this position.
  • Regular lifting of up to 45lb is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License with no more than 6 demerits.
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR Driver's permit

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong customer service and attention to detail skills. You will consistently take initiative and have excellent decision-making and judgement skills. In addition, you must be able to work alone and as a team and be safety orientated. As a summer student opportunity, selection priority will be given to those candidates enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
Note: Successful candidates may be required to use their own vehicle for business related purposes. Reimbursement for these expenses will occur in accordance with EPCOR's Vehicle Allowance Policy.

Location: The successful candidates may be placed at different locations and business units within Edmonton, AB.

Wage: Starting at $27.22 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement.)
