Position purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Support:

Based on best practices and current research in the field, helps design and coordinate the section’s educational programs. More specifically, the incumbent evaluates, implements and manages the development of the university teaching and academic success programs. Teaches courses on methodology, manages academic success programs for at-risk students, and writes resources for teachers. Assists both students and professors, thereby contributing to academic retention and the quality of the student experience.

What you will bring:
Graduate degree (Master’s in Education or equivalent experience)
Two years’ work experience in providing services to students in a university setting
Experience as a tutor, mentor or teacher
Knowledge of methodological principles used in university teaching, acquired through postsecondary teaching experience
Outstanding interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
Analytical, research and critical thinking skills, with ability to synthesize information
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to give and receive feedback
Availability to work on a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends, sometimes with no notice, based on the operational requirements of the service

Bilingualism: French and English (spoken and written); to be considered for this position, candidates must be rated at the Low Advanced proficiency level or higher for both oral comprehension and reading comprehension in their second official language. The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.
