Job Summary

Zurich North America is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Line of Business (LOB) Reserving team in support of our Excess Liability LOB based out of the Zurich Canada office, located in downtown Toronto. 

 

LOB Reserving is growing our team in Canada.  The Actuarial Analyst will work directly with Canada’s Chief Actuary and Lead Reserving actuaries in ZNA’s other Business Units.

 

LOB Reserving is a large team where you can hone your financial acumen by analyzing and providing insights in quarterly reserve studies, reporting rate change, providing data for strategic reinsurance placements, assisting in the creation and maintenance of automation for actuarial reports and tools, as well as enhancing the functionality of internally developed tools. You will also be part of a company and team focused on innovation, simplification, and continuous improvement.

 

The initial core responsibilities of this position include analyzing the Canada Excess Liability reserves, Canada P&C rate change and assisting in the preparation of the Appointed Actuary’s Report. Other responsibilities will be driven by business needs and your individual career aspirations.

Job Qualifications

Required:
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree

OR
• Bachelors Degree

AND
• Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 2 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area

OR
• Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area

 

Preferred:

•    ACAS
•    Experience with programming languages such as VBA, SQL, Alteryx, R, and Business Objects
•    Property & Casualty insurance experience
•    Commercial insurance experience
