   Position:  Associate Director, Global Securitization US

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Securitization team in the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

As an Associate Director in the Global Securitization US team, the position is responsible for providing delivery of the Bank’s US Term ABS and private bank finance securitization product offering.  This includes client coverage with direct face-to-face (or virtual) client interactions including providing market updates, structuring advice/solutions and rating agency advisory services.  The job responsibilities include effectively working on client coverage teams to support the group’s private bank finance securitization origination including structuring, analysis, diligence, documentation review and working with internal partners to support these transactions.  The role also supports the distribution of ABS products to institutional accounts through our global distribution network and helps manage our participation in underwritten bond transactions. 

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Primary and/or secondary client coverage for client marketing efforts in delivering securitization financing solutions to our clients.
  • Participate on the team to execute securitization transactions on behalf of client base, including participation in organizational meetings, review of critical transaction documents and coordination with internal partners.
  • Analyze transaction structures to find ways to make transactions more efficient for clients.
  • Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with clients, other lenders, and legal counsel
  • Develop junior staff’s technical skills, client knowledge and product knowledge.
  • Manage preparation of securitization related client marketing and pitch materials; at times, responsible for presenting content of materials to clients.
  • Identify and assess capital structure and financing needs of client base; provide regular dialogue with clients and in order to obtain mandates on client offerings.
  • Monitor trends in the securitization market to proactively present ideas to clients or design solutions to fit their needs.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
