Position: Associate Producer, CTV Morning Live, Bell Media
Location: 969 Robson St Suite 500, Vancouver (British Columbia) | CTV News
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. May include shift work, evenings and weekends. Overtime and on-call may also be required

Responsibilities:
Bell Media has an opportunity for an experienced journalist to join the CTV Morning Live team as an Associate Producer. The successful candidate has spent time working in production and writing roles in deadline-driven newsrooms and is looking to take the next step in a major market working for Canada’s number one news organization.

The Associate Producer will be responsible for generating and producing compelling, original news stories and segments for CTV Morning Live. We are seeking a candidate with strong journalism skills and exceptional broadcast writing abilities. We are looking for someone who is confident bringing creative, innovative ideas to the table and thinking “outside the box”. A history of success as a positive, enthusiastic team member is essential.

Reporting to the CTV Morning Live Supervising Producer, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional editorial skills and professionalism that meet the high standards of CTV News. You are:

• A self-starter who is able to identify, produce and execute compelling content
• Someone with the daily vision to build engaging and exciting newscasts and segments
• Someone who has significant attention to detail and produces error free content
• Someone who is constantly consuming journalism on all platforms and finding ways to innovate and improve content
• Someone who has strong editorial judgment and the ability to make quick decisions
• A team player who collaborates well with colleagues and helps foster an environment of respect and inclusiveness

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years newsroom experience
• Post-Secondary education in Journalism or Communication
• Professional journalism background
• Social media literacy
• Excellent news writing ability
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to take program to air in a control room setting

Desired Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of Lower Mainland and British Columbia current affairs
• Previous experience in a TV newsroom
• Experience editing an asset

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
