Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, eCommerce Transportation Network Optimization is responsible for leading the execution of our vision for our final mile network as well as developing and implementing innovative and strategic last mile delivery solutions for all regions in Canada. This role is responsible for supporting Walmart eCommerce competitiveness as it relates to the depth and variety of service offerings, end to end delivery experience, last mile delivery operations, tech integration and deployment; as well as cost management; and creating highly innovative partnerships with crowdsource service platforms/providers and other third-party service providers. The Senior Manager is accountable to lead the operations strategy, Tech and product implementation across all National and International channels.

What you'll do...

1. The Senior Manager, Transportation Strategy will lead strategy development and execution of strategic roadmap – Identifying and sizing strategic opportunities, developing near-term and long-term strategic vision, leveraging insights to inform actionable strategic plans and supporting cross-functional teams in implementing the last mile strategy pertaining to the Last Mile delivery operations, tech integration and solutions implementation at store level.

2. Responsible to execute against the AOP/LRP plan of the eCommerce Transportation strategy in Canada. The role will lead the development and execution of operations strategies with a focus to continuously improve customer experience.

3. Responsible for guiding strategy on customer experience as it relates to speed, delivery promise, carrier and ship node sourcing from the website visit through to the final delivery.

4. Acts as a subject matter expert on the program area. Ensures that overall solutions are leveraging best practices seen in the industry today and other Walmart markets internationally; as well as develops benchmarking and best practice initiatives that set direction for Transportation optimization objectives.

5. Drives, develops, and implements innovative solutions in line with the company's corporate strategy to deliver competitive advantage for final mile delivery including service offerings such as Home Delivery, Store Delivery, Access Point Delivery, Ship from Store, Dedicated fleet, Crowdsourced, White Glove, Installation Services, etc.

6. Provides leadership in the development of system projects, in accordance with the Walmart’s Global eCommerce Platforms development and in line with  eCommerce Canada growth plans. Develops capital and operating budgets and business cases for strategic projects

7. Lead and manage the eCommerce Transportation Support team and collaborate with Supply Chain and Store Operations teams as well to develop and implement process improvements.

8. Coaches and develops team who support the identification of innovative ideas, improved cost to serve opportunities, budget development, and business case development.

Qualifications:

Must Haves:

• Small Parcel / Courier / Final Mile network experience
• Strong understanding of Final Mile costs, rate tables, accessorial charges and invoicing
• Seasoned leader with minimum 5 years' management experience

• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence at all levels and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills complemented by solid business and technical background, and keen interest in business operations, process improvement, and change impact.
• Expert problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex opportunities/challenges.
