What you will do 

The Information, Data and Analytics Services (IDAS) group supports the Bank’s research, analysis and decision-making through innovative and responsive analytics and information management, built on efficient and user-focused technical platforms and tools. Within IDAS, the Information Management and Platforms (IMAP) group provides full lifecycle management of centrally managed data and information and leads Bank-wide data and information management policy/standards setting and advisory services. We also ensure responsive and resilient data and information platforms and tools through ongoing oversight, evergreening, and specialized technical services and support. 

 

As a Data Management Specialist within the Data Management team in IMAP, you will ensure the ongoing availability and quality of collected and derived data, as well as the continuity of data operations by executing data-related tasks. You will also perform in-depth analysis of complex data with your solid analytical skills and understanding of business requirements, operational processes, and data processing tools. Using your programming skills, you will identify ways to improve the reliability and efficiency of the team’s operational processes and help create new data solutions to meet client requirements. You apply standard analytic processes that leads to recommendations and action plans, clarify information, build understanding and inform decisions. 

 

In addition, you will: 

  • participate in development, deployment and operationalization of new data pipelines, as well as changes and enhancements to existing pipelines
  • ensure data is accessible and properly protected by applying data management tasks
  • troubleshoot when issues arise
  • assist in data onboarding activities
  • plan and conduct user acceptance testing
  • provide guidance and support in the build and maintenance of metadata
  • perform other related duties as assigned
     

What you need to succeed
You have knowledge of data management principles and best practices. You possess programming skills such as Python, SQL. You are a self starter that shows initiative and finds innovative ways to solve complex problems. You collaborate with peers and contribute to discussions. You are a change contributor with the ability to make sound decisions and judgments. You also have excellent organizational and time management skills.

 

Nice-to-have 

  • knowledge of cloud technologies
  • knowledge of macro-economic concepts and the role of central banking
     

Your education and experience

  • a Bachelor's degree in a related field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, etc.) and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience

or

  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

and

  • Operating in an Agile Scrum environment 
  • Working in a continuous improvement environment where changes are encouraged, and priorities shift often.


What you need to know

  • Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

Hybrid Work Model 
The Bank is moving towards a hybrid working model which allows employees to telework up to 50 percent of the time, balanced over a two-week period. Relocation assistance may be offered by the Bank for terms greater than 2 years.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $64 705 to $76 125 (job grade 14)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
