As the DevOps Specialist in Tools and Administration domain, you will be working to build robust and scalable DevOps Tools Infrastructure, responsible for end-to-end support of DevOps suite of tools including automation, maintaining High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) for DevOps tools and provide coaching and support to users and evangelize agile practices. The DevOps Specialist is primarily responsible for maintenance and support of DevOps Tools, including but not limited to running tools for project management and documentation, source control and artifacts management, code quality and security scanning. In addition, The DevOps Specialist is also responsible for maintaining and automating deployments using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. The person ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:

 

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in performing upgrades, maintenance activities and troubleshooting on DevOps tools systems such as JIRA, Confluence, Crowd, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, GitHub and Slack to ensure uptime and high availability.
  • Have experience in end-to-end support and coaching of DevOps suite of tools including automation, maintaining HA, DR for DevOps tools. 
  • Demonstrate capability to support and administer Tools for 800+ users across multiple domains, teams and departments. 
  • Be competent in performing new tools evaluations and research to extend the capabilities of the existing platform.
  • Understand and have implemented DevOps best practices related to Agile Methodologies, Security, DevOps Platform Design etc.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on a variety of DevOps solutions, industry best practices and emerging trends.
  •  Maintain technical proficiency with respect to programming languages, scripts and processes to ensure that Tangerine is well-positioned for technological advances in the marketplace.
  • Assist/support users and teams in troubleshooting efforts. Timely resolution/investigation of application issues.
  • Develop Jenkins CICD pipelines-as-code to run and maintain environments to ensure stability and uptime.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  •  Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Tangerine’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience and Proficiency in CI/CD delivery model 
  • University or College Degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous exposure to the banking industry/financial services 
  • Experience with industry best practices standards (ITIL, DevOps, CMMI and others)
  • Strong development background 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment and have a strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times 
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
     

Technical Skills

  • Competent in DevOps Tools administration, troubleshooting, maintenance and user support. 
  • Expert in Project and Defect Management Tools (like Jira), Documentation and Collaboration Tools (like Confluence, Slack), Source Code Version Control (Git/GitHub), Continuous Integration Tools (like Jenkins), Artifact Management Tools (like Artifactory) and Code quality and security tools (like SonarQube).
  • Competent in enterprise application high availability, data center and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Hands-on knowledge and expertise in scripting and automation languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, Bash/Shell. 
  • Well versed in the development lifecycle and object-oriented development methodologies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project)
