The Opportunity

Banff Centre is looking for Housekeeping Floaters to ensure all housekeeping linen closets and storage in all guest residences of the Banff Centre are in good order allowing the Room Attendants to have adequate supplies to complete their daily tasks. The Floater also assists in providing the cleaning service to the guests and thus contributes directly to the quality of the Banff Centre's environment and guest experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, below are some key accountabilities:

  • Deliver clean linen to the linen closets in all Banff Centre residences
  • Pick up and remove soiled linen from guest rooms and delivering it to the Housekeeping loading docks
  • Collect waste from all Banff Centre buildings and dispose of it in designated areas
  • Assist with the cleaning of rooms as necessary
  • Install/remove furniture to and from rooms
  • Keep the Housekeeping office and storage areas in good order
  • Ensure Room Attendant carts are stocked daily
  • Clean and deliver in room amenities such as; glasses, mugs, coffee machines, etc.
  • Carpet cleaning as assigned

Qualification and Educational Requirements

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or international equivalent required
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Previous cleaning and customer-service experience
  • Able to take direction and communicate in English
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision

Special Requirements

  • Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends. 

Employment Terms & Benefits

  • In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500 hour probationary period.
  • This position pays $15.25 per hour, working up to 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule.

  • Candidates offered a position with Banff Centre, in this capacity, will be required to obtain a criminal record check verifying a clear record before a final job offer can be finalized. 
  • Visa Requirements: Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Banff Centre is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
