Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to work as an integrated member of our Water Resources team in British Columbia. As a seasoned practitioner, you will contribute to building our hydrogeology team in collaboration with other senior technical staff nationwide. The position will be supported by our national hydrogeology team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the growth of the team. You will also contribute to business development and delivering outstanding technical solutions and projects for our clients throughout BC and Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the Stantec community across Canada and globally on projects and discipline growth
  • Support on-going business development efforts with other members of the Water Resources team. Develop and maintain client contacts. Proposal development, including the development of work plans, scopes, and budgets.
  • Lead technical work and field programs including preparation of technical reports and providing senior review of technical reports. Provide technical coaching and mentorship, helping to plan and deliver training programs for our technical team. Familiarity with physical hydrogeology and hydrogeological modelling. Actively participate in promoting a strong health and safety culture in the team

Qualifications

  • Strong business development, client management, and communication skills are essential
  • A strong affinity for teamwork, and training and mentoring junior staff are also essential for this position
  • Superior and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience

P.Geo. or P.Eng. registration or eligibility for registration through EGBC in British Columbia is a requirement for this position

An educational background in geosciences or environmental engineering, which includes a specific focus in the areas of physical hydrogeology, geochemistry, and/or contaminant hydrogeology

A Master's level degree or higher and consulting experience is preferred

Minimum of 7 years related experience in the areas of physical hydrogeology, mining, oil and gas, groundwater supply development, and/or groundwater resource management ideally in British Columbia

Experience in the Yukon and Northwest Territories is preferred

Experience with numerical groundwater flow, transport modeling, environmental assessments, permitting, and contaminated site investigation is preferred

The successful candidate will be required to primarily work in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Seasonal fieldwork may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather and rough terrain, and requirements to lift items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
