Position Summary...

Walmart's Industrial Engineers play a critical role in driving bottom line results through wide range of projects. The successful candidate is expected to analyze and drive projects in areas such as automation technology (large scale & tactical), customers buying patterns, systems integration, distribution center design, supply chain & ecommerce network design and data analytics in an effort to deliver the optimal solution to support the End-to-End business. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be reporting to the Logistics Engineering Manager. This role requires a self- driven, independent leader with exceptional communication skill that will embody the Walmart core beliefs of Integrity, Respect for the Individual, Striving for Excellence and Service to the Customer.

What you'll do...

• Collaborate with colleagues and senior leadership to develop and drive sustainable supply chain strategies

• Drive innovative solutions and provide recommendations to senior management

• Will research and integrate automated solutions both for point solutions as well as fully automated distribution centre

• Develop business cases and track the success of each projects

• Lead facility design, optimization, process workshop and Kaizen events

• Drive Lean initiatives in business that will results in lower operating cost

• Able to develop various models which include operation cost model, facility throughput model and process simulation model

• Work cross functional with other Walmart markets to share and leverage ideas and solutions (i.e. US, Mexico, China, United Kingdom, etc.)

• Manage multiple projects and follow the Project Management Lifecycle

• Manipulate operation and sales data sets from local database using SQL and Excel

• Lead change management to internal clients on process improvement initiatives

• Comfortable leading and supporting RFP discussion with multiple vendors and working with legal to develop contract agreement

• Support the development of engineering labour standards

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering, preferably Process or Industrial Engineering.
  • Min. 3 years experience in Supply Chain or Replenishment role is an asset
  • MOST engineering standards certification preferred and/or experience in building engineering labour standard
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Able to work independently and plan work effort
  • Must be an analytical and innovative thinker with careful consideration for details
  • Must be proficient with Visio, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SQL
  • Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Tableau
  • Ability to travel to any of the Distribution Centers or Fulfillment Centers as dictated by project work
  • Ability to travel and work on weekends and off-hours
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification would beneficial.
  • PMP certification would be beneficial
