Description de poste:

• The SLC Management IT team (SLCIT) provides the technical support to SLC Management, the global institutional asset manager for Sun Life.  SLCIT is looking for an integration specialist that will provide technical leadership implementing COTS applications, and integrating them with existing processing within a primarily batch-oriented environment.  SLCIT has a number of purchased application and is focused on system and data integration spanning multiple technologies and business processes. 

  This is a hands-on role that is accountable for providing technical leadership and detailed design delivery within projects and enhancements for our SLC Management business partners.    

  SLCIT is currently modernizing the technology with an Investment Data Hub (IDH) and the utilization of AWS technologies.  The successful candidate will join this project team to integrate the IDH with existing applications and business functionality. 

Preferred skills

• Excellent working knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle, including designing and tuning stored procedures
• Solid experience and understanding of ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or AWS Glue
• Experience with implementing using AWS and AWS Services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style for technical and non-technical audiences
• Able to work both independently and within a global multi-site and time-zone team
• Proactive and self-directed with excellent organizing, planning and time management skills and able to progress on multiple assignments at once
• Able to effectively operate at both a holistic high level, as well as deep in the details
• Able to balance tactical and strategic objectives and think beyond the immediate need with ability to analyze situations/problems systematically and deliver effective right-sized solutions in a timely manner
• Possess an inherent passion for continuous improvement and innovation
• Customer and results focused
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to align to changing priorities

Qualifications

• University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline
• Minimum 6 years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience
• Excellent working knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle, including designing and tuning stored procedures
• Solid experience and understanding of ETL tools such as Informatica
• PowerCenter,  SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or AWS Glue
• Experience with implementing using AWS and AWS Services such as Lambda, SQS, IAM and EC2 Concepts
• Experience with the DevOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CDD, Ansible)
• Experienced with distributed application architectures, Windows Servers, and Active Directory
• Exposure to scheduling tools (Control-M etc.)
• Exposure to PowerShell and/or other scripting tools and techniques
• Assets include:
• Experience with .NET, C++ and/or C#
• Experience developing and implementing API’s
• Experience with investment administrative applications like PAM, PLM, Summit and Enterprise!
• Experience with Markit EDM
• Experience with vendors and ASPs
• Experience in designing systems that use XML, XSLT and schemas
• Exposure to batch processing tools and concepts
• Experience working with Agile and Lean SDLCs
• Experience working within a financial institution

Responsibilities

• Produce both high-level and detailed-level design documents
• Provide technical leadership within projects ensuring the appropriate technical solution is being delivered, appropriate governance is applied, risks are mitigated, issues are resolved and projects are successfully implemented.
• Provide estimates and contribute to defining timelines and project plans
• Work with business analysts to ensure design solutions meet requirement needs
• Work with onshore and offshore development teams to ensure coding, testing, debugging and implementation activities are completed as required
• Participate in both design reviews and code reviews
• Work with external software vendors during vendor implementations and issue resolution
• Support our operational team as needed with problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting
• Transition projects and enhancements to our operations team
• Assist SLCIT architects in developing strategies and roadmaps
• Stay current with trends in emerging technologies and how they could apply to Sun Life
