Manager – Digital Media Platform

 

We are looking for a strong leader to join the Digital Media team within Rogers as a Project Manager.  In this role, you will be responsible for delivering project management excellence on key strategic initiatives through disciplined execution.  The breadth and complexity of these projects cannot be understated.  The successful candidate should be able to oversee the impacts, interdependencies and timelines between functional teams and work to ensure project initiatives meet the goals and objectives set forth by the senior and executive leadership teams.

 

What you will do:

  • Provide support to the teams developing Digital Media products
  • Create a roadmap for the reusable components that ensures growing internal adoption while maintaining technical health
  • Help scale the best practices around usage of the products through education and enablement.
  • Provide System Design knowledge to ensure component stability across multiple products.
  • Assess, estimate, and architect products and features from ideation to delivery. Keeping a keen eye on reusability, stability, and revenue opportunities
  • Oversee the development and growth of the Digital Media Platform Enablement Team – Creating services, frameworks, and SDKs to enhance and optimize the developer footprint inside the department.
  • Directly manage, hire, and oversee developers, and growing and mentoring these individuals in their career path.
  • Work with a variety of software vendors to identify and implement key features and functionality that will add value to the department portfolio.

 

What you will bring:

  • Proficient with the Agile framework and how teams should be working within it.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, software development life cycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring.
  • Experience in multiple full stack domains including DevOps, backend, and frontend services.
  • Knowledge of system design principles with understanding of vertical and horizontal scalability and architectural trade-off decisions.
  • Proven ability to balance and reconcile the needs of product and business with the long-term vision of technology and software
  • Track record of managing and mentoring technical teams and progressing the career trajectory of employees.
  • Capability of breaking down large development projects and prioritizing work against aggressive timelines
  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple business verticals
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals.
