Our clients come from a broad spectrum of industries, and we work with them to identify and respond to environmental opportunities and threats, working together with the public, stakeholder groups and governmental regulators.

Stantec is focused on growing our noise, vibration and acoustic services in central Canada. We currently provide a comprehensive suite of services across the Infrastructure, Oil &Gas, Mining, Manufacturing and Power Sectors. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Student to join our Environmental Services team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and ready to engage in providing our clients high-quality solutions while learning and growing both as an individual and as part of a team.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for field data collection, data analysis and reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  • Collect noise and vibration measurements at several of project sites across the GTA and abroad.
  • Complete data analysis using a variety of software applications.
  • Communicate with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards. To complete assignments and projects in a timely manner as required by the project manager or supervisor.
  • Contribute to technical reports and client presentations summarizing project work, findings, and recommendations
  • Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to meet a strong demand for high-quality, organized and consistent results
  • Confident individual who demonstrates strong initiative and is capable of independent action with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced technical report writing skills
  • Time management – balancing immediate and long-term work with varying priorities and deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions
  • Valid G driver’s license is required for business travel

Education and Experience

Working towards a degree as a Mechanical Engineer from a reputable Canadian University and will complete 3rd year of engineering as of May 2022 and is available for an 8-month internship.
