Job Description:

Please note this is an Evergreen posting - compensation is subject to change based on experience and weekly scheduled hours vary for each assignment.

Under the direction of the Chair, Allied Health Programs, the Professor is responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students across multiple department and programs. The professional responsibilities include:

The teaching of assigned courses, including the following:

·         delivery of regularly scheduled instruction in the Fall, Winter, or Summer terms in home department or across departments

·         ensuring student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques

·         providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies

·         evaluating student progress/achievement and supporting the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses

·         the development and creation of a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students

 

The provision of academic leadership, including the following:

·         providing guidance to students relative to the teaching assignments

·         modeling the College values Caring. Learning. Integrity. Respect.

This job requires occasional or regular onsite work in accordance with Policy HS 16.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)

  • Registered with the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS) and Canadian Associate of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science or related field of study, graduate degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent work experience in diagnostic imaging in a health care environment;

  • Teaching experience (including preceptorship experience), preferably in a post- secondary setting is considered an asset

  • Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset

  • Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
