SUMMARY

The Portfolio Manager - Leases acts as the dedicated manager for the Leased Portfolio. Having ultimate responsibility to contract deliverables and the overall performance of the team members in the managing of the lease portfolio providing value added client services. This position will report to the General Manager

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with BGIS GM to create and implement a Lease Portfolio strategic relationship plan
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining effective relationships with the clients and tenants, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction is achieved
  • Maintain small portfolio of leases to be managed (TBD), which will support Property Managers and provide first hand opportunity to use this portfolio as a pilot for additional opportunities for improvement
  • Establish strong working relationships with Landlords’ and be a point of escalation, follow up and strategy required to support
  • Support PSPC in current and future mandates
  • Overseeing Financials and ensuring the team is focused on providing Best Value to Canada
  • Work with the team to ensure they challenge where required when it comes to quotes that come from landlord
  • Timely delivery of the Annual LCR’s
  • Ensure any follows are complete and managed
  • Support Asset Manager on Yield up requests
  • Maintain positive tenant relationships through professional and effective responsiveness to, and proactive consideration of tenant issues, thereby ensuring that tenant expectations and landlord criteria are being consistently met.
  • Meet with property management team, tenants, vendors, contractors and senior management as needed to review and provide support to resolve operational challenges and implement new initiatives
  • The dedicated manager, who will act as the single point of contact and relationship manager for the Technical and Contracting Authorities specifically the Lease Asset Manager
  • Interact with BGIS Director of PDS and LAS to ensure projects are being managed efficiently and continue to communicate with PSPC on any existing risk
  • Preparation of BMP for the Lease Portfolio
  • Ensure Lease reporting requirements are being met
  • Develop and ensure Lease Site Schedule is prepared and managed with PSPC agreeance and feedback
  • The scheduling and chairing of Lease Meetings at appropriate management levels
  • Develop and maintain positive cross portfolio relationships with PSPC, tenants, BGIS team members, contractors and industry associations

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS​

  • University graduation or professional certification and 10 years of job-related experience
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • A customer service focused strategic thinker and demonstrated problem solver
  • A demonstrated ability to lead multiple stakeholders (client representatives and BGIS Team Members) in the resolution of problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead a team of individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence as opposed to authority
  • Strong computer proficiency and skills

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation is considered an asset

  • CFM from IFMA
  • FMA Designation from BOMI
  • RPA Designation from BOMI
  • CPM from Institute of Real Estate Management
