As a Product Owner at National Bank, your main mandate will be to ensure that the Personal and Commercial Banking business lines are always adequately prepared before new regulatory requirements governing their activities are implemented. To do so, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of regulatory initiatives.

Your main challenges:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of regulatory changes and assess their impact on Personal and Commercial Banking activities
  • Act as Product Owner and steward for the client experience and business value within multi-disciplinary teams for your projects, which includes:
    • Developing and managing the product backlog composed of user stories
    • Prioritizing activities according to the effective dates of requirements and user needs, while taking into account IT constraints, external partners, and change management
    • Communicating the minimum viable product (MVP) to the Projects teams
  • Demonstrate leadership by aligning multiple stakeholders around the vision and the delivery strategy for your projects    
  • Guide project development by articulating a target business vision and priority activities to help integrate new regulatory requirements
  • Maintain an understanding of the relevant financial regulatory environment (i.e., FCAC, OSFI, FINTRAC, etc.)
  • Proactively solve problems
  • Provide periodic updates and recommendations
  • Establish and maintain strong and cooperative relationships among all relevant partners in the Personal and Commercial Banking sector involved in implementing your initiatives; be a facilitator within a culture of accountability

Qualifications:

  • University degree and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience 
  • Solid experience with organizational complexities in a major financial institution and practical knowledge of Personal and Commercial Banking products and services, management systems and technology
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to Personal and Commercial Banking
  • Experience in project delivery
  • Experience in business analysis and process review
  • Ability to prioritize activities that maximize business value for clients and the organization
  • Bilingual
