Job Description:

The role of Program Analyst, Risk and Regulatory Business Practices is to support the overall development and maintenance of Advisor business practices and standards aligning with risk and regulatory requirements as well as business priorities.  This role will be responsible for supporting programs designed to manage supervision and oversight processes and tools, enable superior employee performance and meet our risk commitments.

What will you do?

  • Provide program management support by maintaining project lists tracking owners, milestone dates, and status updates to prioritize and confirm team resources are appropriately deployed and on track

  • Establish effective project communications with timely distribution of information/updates to ensure deliverables are met and project success

  • Analyze, identify and implement continuous improvement in the supervision programs to promote advisory-friendly, client-centric and compliant outcomes

  • Represent the team on the maintenance, governance and improvements on supervision tools including system updates, SLAs, reporting requirements and implementing process improvements aligning with other business groups  

  • Manage Quality Assurance (QA) testing output to oversee identified issues and gaps are tabled, resolved and closed

  • Identify and investigate trends, insights, anomalies as part of the monthly reporting activities

  • Support annual advisor review program managing verification, attestation activities and tracking resolution and closure of issues

  • Assist with the development of change management strategies including training, communication and adoption plans

  • Collaborate and provide project and analytical support to business and technology initiatives to develop practical and effective solutions and outcomes

  • Manage centralized training and communications repositories

  • Run the user access review programs

  • Administer the execution of programs supporting Business Continuity Plans

  • Support compliance with risk requirements including tracking, updating, recording and reporting on various programs

  • Support superior employee experience through implementation of Sun Life Reward and Recognition programs within RRBP

What you need to suceed

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem solving skills to identify root cause, define options and make pragmatic recommendations related to complex issues

  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret results into actionable recommendations

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently with a strong achievement motivation, while also able to participate effectively in a fluid team environment

  • Able to handle numerous operational tasks and projects concurrently, with minimal supervision

  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and to prioritize, adapt and execute effectively to meet deadlines in a continually changing environment

  • Mindset of innovation and continuous improvement with a focus on opportunities in the digital landscape

  • Strong relationship builder with collaboration skills including listening and facilitation skills with the ability to work with various teams (both internal and external)

  • Excellent computer skills using Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • University degree

  • 2+ years experience and knowledge either in regulatory standards and practices, or risk management

  • Familiarity with the Mutual fund or Insurance industry

  • Relevant experience in an analytical, project management, communications, or training role

  • MFDA Branch Manager experience is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
