Project Manager - Events

You keep the team one-step ahead through well orchestrated project plans that drive alignment and lockstep across multiple workstreams. You’re a master communicator who builds strong, open and proactive communication channels with both internal and external stakeholder groups, and with functional teams and leadership alike. The successful candidate thrives in the high-demand event production environment, understand it, and has proven experience delivering on-time and to budget across in-person, virtual, and hybrid settings. In collaboration with a highly qualified team, you contribute to the achievement of BlackBerry’s brand reputation, demand generation, and revenue goals.

What You Will Do

  • Own project planning and delivery for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events (conferences, trade shows, roundtables, VIP events).
  • Employ Agile project management methodologies and best-practices to orchestrate complex workback schedules, facilitate decision-making, and foster an environment of cross-discipline team partnership.
  • Establish roles and responsibilities within each project, with a clear understanding of escalation paths to remove roadblocks.
  • Liaise and build positive relationships with internal business partners including Corporate, Demand, Field, and Product Marketing, as well as with Sales and Product Management.
  • Partner with operations and analytics teams to prepare detailed post event reporting to support return on investment analysis.
  • Responsible for the regular cadence of status reporting, effectively surfacing project schedule risk to program manager and leadership for action.
  • Manage external agency team lead(s) to ensure alignment and commitment to delivery schedules.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project and program management; with a minimum of 3 years experience in the events/conference production environment preferred.
  • Experience within a PMO environment, with proven experience levering Agile methodologies and workflows.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and written.
  • Flexible to change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and brainstorm in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to grasp internal/external digital event platforms and tools.
  • Technical aptitude is a plus.
