POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Public Relations team in measuring the effectiveness of the department’s programs, tracking and reporting on program results, and also largely includes: involvement in internal communications; CSR and product PR writing projects. The execution of this role includes media monitoring and analysis, the creation and distribution of internal and external coverage reports, communications material development, budget and invoice management, and general support of events and PR projects. The role will require occasional travel and a Class-G driver’s license.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Conduct the evaluation of PR programs effectiveness by utilizing media monitoring resources.
• Daily media monitoring and reporting
• Compiling and distributing weekly, monthly and event-focused reports across the organization
• Review, compile and distribute key news coverage relevant to the Hyundai brand across the
organizations.
• Compile and produce media coverage reports on company vehicles, corporate news/messaging and PR analytics for internal staff and dealers.
• Assist in the development of external and internal communications materials including press releases, media pitches, presentations, etc.
• Participate in media relations as required for automotive, corporate and consumer media.
• Administer, measure, and report on the utilization of company press fleet vehicles.
• Manage department budgets to ensure financial accountability.
• Perform various functions including liaising with media monitoring vendor(s) and liaising with internal departments to ensure pertinent information is effectively distributed.
• Populate Hyundai media and public-facing websites with product reviews and other news.
• Assist in the preparation of PR media events as required.
• Other administrative, PR, and department duties as assigned.
• Liaise with other internal departments to ensure PR programs are complaint with company policies and procedures.
• Manage back-end tasks with the department vendors and agencies

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 1-2 years of experience in a Public Relations or Journalism function
• Completion of an undergraduate degree or college diploma with a concentration in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other Communications subjects being ideal.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Genuine interest in the Canadian automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of media industry trends and PR measurement fundamentals.

• Adept at budget management.
• Strong writing skills
• Familiarity with Concur preferred
• Bilingualism (French and English) an asset
