Job Description:

The Corporate Applications Services (CAS) IT team is looking for an SAP S/4 and BW/4 Security Analyst with strong analytical skills and expertise in SAP Authorization and GRC to take part in the ongoing SAP implementation activities and become a member of the SAP Corporate CoE(Centre of Excellence) support organization going forward.

The role will work with business analysts, designers, architects, developers, business partners and project management to understand the requirements, and design roles and accesses that meet the business needs.

Within the operations support component of the role, you will be responding to service requests, day-to-day problem solving, technical implementations, coordinate activities and work together with the team members and vendors to maintain, enhance and customize the supported systems and components

What you will do:

  • Design and maintain authorizations, accesses, controls, and segregations in strict compliance with the company’s standards
  • Perform Functional, Unit, Regression testing of the authorizations introduced
  • Participate in periodic internal and external  access/control audits; explain controls and provide evidence
  • Work collaboratively with the Testing Centre of Excellence to ensure that the developed solution functions correctly
  • Engage in the development of security roles and profiles
  • Support and troubleshoot functional and technical security related issues
  • Prepare Training materials and provide training
  • Provide estimates and contribute to defining timelines and project plans
  • Guide the developers and functional consultants on the correct approach to roles/authorizations design
  • Work with project management to document and communicate risks and issues.  
  • Ensure alignment to Sun Life SDLC and internal standards and compliance
  • Perform root cause analysis on persistent or major software & application related problems
  • Operations Support: technical configuration, problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting;
  • Overseeing and advising on the SOX controls relevant to SAP S/4 and BW/4 systems;
  • Collaborate closely with our internal teams (e.g. data architects, designers, business to business, business intelligence/reporting, server management, etc.) to deliver solutions for business needs.

What you Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience as an SAP Authorization Consultant (a combination of S/4 and BW/4 experience with some ECC is preferred)
  • Experience working/configuring SAP GRC (at least one full-cycle implementation)
  • Good understanding of SAP FI modules functionality (GL, GR, AP, FA) and Procurement MM
  • Strong understanding of SOX control requirements around security, SoD;
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies: Agile, Waterfall
  • Experience working with application vendors and building solutions involving integrating vendor applications into existing environment;
  • Experience in HANA security including User Management, Roles and Analytic Privileges.
  • Experience with creating effective design documentation and diagrams;
  • Experience designing security roles for FI modules (GL, GR, AP, FI);experience with MM security an asset
  • Experience with Fiori roles;
  • Able to create and manage analysis authorizations in BW based on defined InfoObjects and info providers
  • Trouble shoot access issues in BW reporting based on the data providers/roles

Other relevant assets:

  • SAP Certification: Technology Associate (SAP Security and Authorizations) or its analogue;
  • ABAP code understanding with an ability to go into the existing code analyze possible authorization issues/deficiencies.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed and 3rd party teams;
  • Exposure to SAP CDS authorizations;
  • Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (or its analogue), including integration with SAP;
  • Experience with the roles for SAP Analytics Cloud;
  • Experience with security setups and roles and support for other SAP products: Ariba, Concur

Additional requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain Reliability Status through the Government of Canada before a start date can be confirmed (includes a background check with fingerprinting by the RCMP)
  • Occasional work outside of normal business hours as part of a global team
  • Occasional weekend work in support of project delivery and implementations
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on work assignments

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
