National Bank Direct Brokerage (NBDB), a division of National Bank Financial Inc., offers a wide range of financial products and investment tools. NBDB is a discount securities brokerage firm where clients can carry out their transactions online or by phone with a representative. NBDB offers National Bank clients and Canadian investors, who are looking for autonomy and control, an economical and efficient way to trade investment products across multiple platforms. As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting several operational activities, including the billing of fees and production of reports. You will also act as a recognized expert, providing advice to various parties and management for decisions requiring operational expertise.

This position reports to the NBDB Strategy and Project Manager

Your main challenges

  • Provide support for operational activities and serve as a resource person for your colleagues
  • Represent NBDB’s interests and optimize the firm’s operations in an innovative way
  • Interact with various Bank sectors and managers to interpret information and offer professional support as an analyst
  • Keep abreast of new developments in your business sector and make recommendations to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and methods

More specifically, you’ll be required to:

  • Produce and analyze reports and keep procedures and tools up to date to meet business needs
  • Analyze customer experience data to propose improvements to our existing processes
  • Support and assess billing procedures and recommend improvements, as needed
  • Manage medium-sized business projects (planning, execution, tracking/monitoring, closure, change management and communication), that have an impact on the evolution of practices, policies, or products
  • Plan and conduct brainstorming workshops, strategic analysis, monitoring and surveys to make recommendations to management

Competencies required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR university certificate/undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of the Direct Brokerage field
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Good knowledge of systems (e.g., PCIS, Croesus, T80 and AS400), Bank products and services, an asset
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course, an asset
  • Analytical mindset and ability to synthesize information
  • Attention to detail and strong time and priority management skills
  • Bilingualism
