Your Opportunity

Our Alberta Electrical Buildings Team is looking to expand its team in Edmonton with a team-oriented and driven individual. In this position as an Electrical Contract Administrator, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a growing team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Construction Contract Administration.
  • Provision of oversight on behalf of the Engineer of Record of projects in construction, including review of contractor submissions, responses to contractor inquiries, field reviews of electrical installations, etc.
  • Facility condition assessments focusing on electrical systems, equipment and installation.
  • Collection of necessary electrical design input site information.
  • Constructability reviews of electrical designs as well as cross discipline coordination.
  • Technical guidance of electrical design teams and provision of feedback from construction sites.
  • Assistance with estimating of probable cost of construction focusing on electrical systems, equipment and installation.
  • Electrical Commissioning oversight.
  • Technical Report writing.
  • Witnessing and Documentation of Fire Alarm Verifications.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Effective time management and organizational skills to be able to work concurrently on multiple projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, and other codes and standards governing electrical installations.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices and techniques. Hands-on experience in construction field preferred, especially in electrical contracting.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design and collaboration software including AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong collaborative skills while working with a single or multi-discipline team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines.
  • Understanding the importance of complying with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on safety in the field.
  • Desire to help build up stronger design team by providing technical guidance and constructive feedback from project implementation sites
  • Ability to obtain Client Specific Security Clearances for selected Private and Public Sector Clients.

Education and Experience

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 10-15 years of construction related experience is required.

Position will be a mix of work in an office environment and field work and short-term travel to sites will be required.
