We have a phenomenal opportunity for a Rotating Equipment Engineer who will wants to collaborate with multi-functional teams, maintenance, and operations groups to drive safe equipment reliability at an optimal cost.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Improve existing asset strategies by working closely with maintenance, planners, and operations on reliability issues and failure trends; while refining condition monitoring programs
  • Use risk review approaches, hazard and operability studies, management of change process, and other safety checks to maintain and improve area safety and reliability performance indicators
  • Develop, implement, and oversee reliability improvements to continuously eliminate losses in the operation and care of plant rotating equipment
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to troubleshoot complex reliability issues with rotating equipment
  • Investigate and perform root-cause analysis of failures related to rotating equipment
  • Ensure equipment design changes align with the engineering management systems and are evaluated for the impact on equipment reliability; lead the engineering design of minor plant and equipment modifications
  • Use technical knowledge and project management skills to prepare work scopes and coordinate complex repairs such as equipment overhauls and maintenance projects
  • Mentor junior engineers and support them in their development

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of engineering experience with turbomachinery
  • Proven ability to develop practical and cost effective solutions to complex problems and drive them from concept to completion
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement
  • Experience in reliability management tools such as failure mode effect and analysis (FMEA), reliability centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Been registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Centrifugal and reciprocating compressor expertise
  • Machinery diagnostics experience in System 1 and Prognost
  • Industrial experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or power generation
  • Multidisciplinary background in engineering, maintenance and operations

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position is safety-sensitive
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
