Purpose

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading Bank-wide sourcing and project activities while working closely with
senior business unit leadership and other sourcing leaders. The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to improve
upon current processes with a goal of centralizing and consolidating company-wide supplier selection. By
contributing to a competitive marketplace environment the Senior Manager will consistently drives reductions in the
total cost of goods and services procured.

 

Accountabilities

  •  Develop relationships with business leaders to support enterprise objectives, influence key stakeholders and lead sourcing strategies while collaborating on sourcing initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit and Operations leaders to fully understand key business drivers, spend drivers, and achieve required support levels.
  • Lead business value through the development of high quality and cost effective supply relationships, while pursuing and championing total cost of ownership (TCO) savings directly by savings captured through leveraging Bank-wide.
  • purchasing volume, strategic supplier relationships, demand management or indirect savings realized by driving innovation and or enhancing the overall effectiveness of the supply management process.
  • Directly lead and implement best practices in sourcing initiatives
  • Manage category within and across the Bank’s business segments, and serve as a key contributor to a well developed and evolving supplier management process.
  • Track sourcing initiatives for multi-functional stakeholder teams, ensuring effective strategy development, market assessments, RFP processes, and supplier management while enabling collaboration and innovation between stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Establish and develop on-going strategic relationships with key suppliers during major sourcing/project initiatives.
  • Contribute to a disciplined effort to influence spend and drive cost savings across all business segments.
  • Support consistent application of procurement processes across constituent groups.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  •  Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

 

Dimensions:

  • Excellent change-leadership and conflict resolution management as well as advanced problem solving skills.
  •  Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Ban.
  •  Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred.
  •  Ability to comprehend complex technical and financial issues and use them to inform the creation of effective action plans and supplier strategies.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  •  Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with global stakeholder groups. Superior interpersonal and communication skills, exhibits a high level of professionalism.
  •  Knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art procurement and analysis technologies

 

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or
  • related field an asset
  • Minimum of 5-10 years progressive sourcing experience
  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) asset
  • Global sourcing experience
