As the Senior Manager, Special Initiatives, you will contribute to the overall success of the Enterprise Risk Governance function (“ERG”) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Head, Enterprise Risk Governance, you will support the Senior Vice President to ensure Enterprise Risk Governance strategic priorities are met. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you, will:

  • Act as a trusted partner to the SVP, helping him/her define priorities and ensuring he/she is set up to achieve them by:
    • Gathering necessary information and analyses from various sources and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for synergies to drive operational awareness and meet objectives
    • Building an understanding of the critical work that is happening across the business group and surfacing issues and challenges
    • Acting as a liaison/advisor to senior bank leaders and external stakeholders, as appropriate, to help advance both the division’s priorities and the bank’s strategic priorities.
  • Ensure the Senior Management Team operate effectively as a group, including:
    • Partnering with the SVP and other Enterprise Risk Governance leaders to build a strong culture and team collaboration among the different ERG groups
    • Work with the senior management team and key stakeholders in the coordination of ERG’s response to significant external and internal events
    • Orchestrate and facilitate group events, meeting agendas, and follow-ups both within the senior management team and across the Bank.
    • Own and drive leadership engagement initiatives that ensure strategic alignment and skill development across the team. 
    • Support the development of an impactful structure (organizational, committee, etc.), to align with key priorities and create efficiencies across Enterprise Risk and the Bank.
    • Serving as secretary to key committees and recording follow-ups and deliverables.
  • Overarching priorities include:
    • Support the development and implementation of an effective target operating model for Enterprise Risk.
    • Liaise with Global Finance to facilitate the completion of quarterly and annual financial and staffing forecasts/plan across Enterprise Risk.
    • Support the monitoring and execution of key Enterprise Risk Program key priorities
    • Support key Enterprise Risk Projects 
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. MBA is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills. The ability to clearly communicate with senior executives and others in the organization; especially in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational and administrative agility; developed and superior negotiation skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities; strong strategic thinking, problem solving, change management, and strategic influencing skills
  • Strong knowledge of the Bank’s organizational structure and operations
  • Ability to work calmly and intentionally under pressure.
  • A commitment to confidentiality.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills. The ability to communicate information clearly is fundamental to this role. You will be asked to draft documents, edit others, and communicate with a variety of internal and outside stakeholders.
