We’re looking for a Senior Pricing Strategist to scale our pricing and monetization strategy. Working within the Product Marketing team, the Senior Pricing Strategist will lead forecasting and financial modeling for price setting, price increases, and monetization strategies; support fast paced decision making to drive overall subscription revenue growth in all Hootsuite business segments. This role can be based out of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, or USA remotely (in accordance with Hootsuite's local employment entities) and will report to our Senior Manager, Pricing & Packaging.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead pricing and packaging strategy oriented around sustainable revenue growth. Prepare clear research driven financial modeling, outlining overall business impact and opportunities.
  • Build detailed revenue models that highlight the impact of alternative pricing scenarios, trade offs in customer acquisition, churn, market share and ARR growth; develop pro-forma estimates for conversion and ARR impact.
  • Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape (business segments, geographies) to identify new creative and strategic opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Lead cross functional focus groups and workshops within the Sales and Customer Organizations to gather customer insights that help identify, prioritize, and develop pricing opportunities.
  • Manage opportunities for new growth products and/or packaging; create hypotheses, conduct research, prepare impact assessment and present proposals to the pricing committee for approval. Support operationalization and execution.
  • Design, scope and manage pricing research to understand customer perception of value, and willingness to pay; evolve our price structure, price metrics, and price points to be among the best in SaaS.
  • Set and oversee product pricing policies, such as pricing guidance based on historical trends to react to changes in the current market environment.
  • Facilitate training and education sessions with senior leaders across product management, marketing, sales, and finance to align sustaining growth with pricing and packaging best practices.
  • Develop talent on the pricing team and the broader product marketing team though coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Significant experience in role within analytics, pricing, or finance; 3 years of specific B2B SaaS experience preferred
  • Certification in business, finance, economics, or other quantitative disciplines
  • Experience delivering Pricing and Go-to-Market recommendations to multiple stakeholders (product, marketing, sales, or  finance); confident in making and delivering big, impactful decisions to senior management
  • Ability to perform advanced statistical and financial analysis; Expert proficiency with spreadsheets and pricing research methods (e.g. Monadic experiments, Van Westendorp Price Sensitivity Meter)
  • Negotiation: successfully obtains commitment to a solution or idea, while maintaining integrity and relationships
