Senior Project Manager, Cost Optimization Program

Department: Project management

Location: Laval, Quebec

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Couche-Tard has an ambitious $1 billion global cost optimization and transformation program. The program includes a total of approximately 300 initiatives in several areas including: construction, maintenance, IT, marketing, store operations and fuel transportation. The successful candidate will lead several projects and report to the Program Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:  

  • Work closely with stakeholders and executive team members in defining project objectives, scope, strategies, and plans.

  • Support the executive team in innovation and in the creation of new ideas for optimization.

  • Organize and facilitate project tracking meetings to measure and communicate project progress.

  • Identify and manage project risks and issues.

  • Act as an advisor and coach to stakeholders when required.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time by defining activities, deliverables, effort, resource requirements, project timelines and estimating budgets and controlling project costs.

  • Build and maintain close relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Prepare project charters and the various documents that make up the project management plan.

  • Collaborate with other project managers in the organization to define and improve project management processes, tools and documents.

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Ability to promote analytical and conceptual thinking in relation to activities, moving beyond numbers to strategy.

  • Ability to seek information and encourage stakeholder alignment at all levels.

  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguities in all aspects of work, including business direction and strategy.

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide processes across multiple business units and functional areas.

  • Ability to deliver required messages and decision making to the full audience, including senior management, and in all formats (e.g., written, oral, presentation development and presentation).

  • Good understanding of project processes and development methodologies

  • Ability to understand and lead project improvements from start to finish

  • Ability to drive organizational adoption and readiness for implementation with a focus on results and growth

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and planning skills, as well as critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Ability to manage large and complex projects (multi-million dollar)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or other field relevant to the position

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a project manager

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) training is an asset

  • Extensive knowledge of financial management or planning

  • Excellent knowledge of investment evaluation techniques

  • Excellent knowledge of project management and project portfolio management

  • Experience in leading enterprise-wide processes

  • Proficiency in standard project tools

Language skills:

  • Fluent English, spoken and written

  • French is an asset.
