SUMMARY

An opportunity to ensure the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, on time and on budget, while meeting corporate and client expectations

Self-motivated, proactive and highly deadline-oriented, you have a history of success as a Senior Project Manager, known for building successful client relationships. Most especially, you are recognized for your ability to manage project teams and resources, including consultants and contractors, track deliverables, liaise regularly with clients and other stakeholders to keep them updated on the project status, and consistently deliver timely, quality, on-budget results. Reporting to the Senior Project Director, you will be responsible for the effective planning and implementation of a major capital project. You will be responsible for supporting the project management, reporting and day-to-day administration of a large retro-fit project valued at $1B for a prestigious public-sector client.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE

The successful candidate will be required to obtain Level II Secret security clearance.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary role as a Project Manager, IT/Security will encompass a wide variety of duties. Specifically, you will:

  • Directly responsible for leading the delivery of IT Communications and Security projects, from inception to completing, including document management, change of scope, scheduling, cost control, quality management, regulatory and environmental compliance communications, risk management, procurement, approvals, planning & design, commissioning, occupancy, and health & safety. This includes the delivery of Telecommunication LAN Rooms, IT Cabling Pathways and Infrastructure, Physical Security and Electronic Security Systems.
  • Plan and coordinate projects to maximize beneficial use by clients while minimizing disruptions to clients and/or occupants.
  • Offer value-added solutions by providing cost-beneficial alternatives.
  • Coordinate with facility management forces to ensure the best solution and optimum turnover of the project.
  • Work closely as part of the Project Management team to ensure continuous improvement and successful delivery of the team’s program of projects.
  • Carrying out tours and visits to construction sites and report on observations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Monitors work progress to ensure completion.
  • Provide project management and engineering services for multidisciplinary security

     projects by leading teams through all levels of project life cycles from preliminary

     planning and scheduling, schematic design, construction documents, tendering,

     construction, contract administration, commissioning and project close out.

  • Apply knowledge of national and provincial building codes, industry standards and

     government regulations to successfully manage the delivery of complex Security

     Infrastructure for military, security, healthcare, and public and private service

      industries across Canada.

  • Perform effective scope and change management, produce cost estimates, manage

     schedules and fee budgets, and lead project meetings with key stakeholders,

     creating conference reports for tracking action items, and managing project

     progress. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

To be up to the exciting challenges of this Project Manager IT/Security role, you should have a professional profile that includes:

  • University degree in engineering, a college degree in engineering technology or equivalent relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience on federal design and construction projects.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivation and proactive approach.
  • Effective client management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with respect to industry standards and regulations.
  • Software proficiencies including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project

 

ASSETS:

  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Telecommunication certification (Example:  BICSI RCDD)
  • Security certification (Example:  PSP)
  • Project Management Professional accreditation
