Hiring Details:

  • Work location: 90 Wynford Drive, North York ON
  • Full-time; permanent 
  • Working hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday (between hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm)

 

As a Small Business Collections Advisor you will contribute to the overall success of the Small Business Collections in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide quality decisions to minimize losses and improve profitability on accounts assigned to the SAC.
  • Provide customer service meeting Bank standards and retain and increase the overall profitability of assigned customer relationships by providing guidance and counsel through consistent and proactive communication.
  • Establishing a reasonable time frame, based on the facts obtained, to expect the customer to bring payments current and follow for the payments or take action to cure defaults.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Solid knowledge of all issues pertaining to regulatory compliance i.e. Privacy Code, Basel, SOX, Bank Act, AML.
  • Thorough understanding of banking and an expert knowledge of the Bank’s Small Business/Retail Lending Policies and Procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of the legal process relating to commercial and civil actions.
  • Expert understanding of security documentation, legal ramifications, and remedies.
  • Expert understanding of the guidelines relating to Small Business lending under the CSBFA program and other federal, provincial and regional programs.
  • Thorough understanding of financial statements and interpretation.
  • Thorough understanding of the Bankruptcy Act.
  • Thorough knowledge of Branch systems eg. CIS, Bolds, Intralink, TCS, CACS, PLMS.
