Do you have a broad level of experience with ServiceNow, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills? We are looking for a ServiceNow solution designer to plan, coordinate, and execute activities related to Downstream ServiceNow module. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of downstream business applications in various capacities. You will be crucial in providing guidance and direction to the application outsourcer and project teams for design, approach, issues, and changes that affect their suite of applications. In addition, you will need to have a very good understanding of how all the applications work from both a business and technical perspective, as you will be considered the subject matter expert to all the applications within your portfolio.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Assist in designing solutions for business demands for projects
  • Work with Scrum team to deliver backlog
  • Develop solutions and assist third party vendor by providing design
  • Assist in architecting new systems or leverage off current systems
  • Assist with production support on various escalated issues
  • Involved in road mapping, lifecycle management, and coordination changes
  • Manage the relationship between Suncor and application outsourcer for specific rack forward applications
  • Ensure that all changes to the systems supported by operations meet functional requirements, system compliance and other specifications
  • Ensures that transition to sustainment meets operational standard as far as supportability, training, and documentation
  • Support retail or wholesale applications on a 24/7 basis and ensure reliable operations and maximal uptime

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar IT role
  • 3+ years experience in ServiceNow Implementation, Development or Administration
  • ServiceNow development experience including Flow Designer, Scripting, or Applications Designing
  • Designations in ServiceNow, including Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM/CSM, and/or Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Strong development skills including Service Portal development experience - Javascript/Angular JS experience
  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to work across multiple projects as a technical team member, driving user story analysis for data modelling to support reporting requirements
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, raise issues or concerns and keep parties informed when situations are appropriate
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solid attention to detail and strong documentation skills
  • Strong non-authoritative leadership and mentorship skills

Preference for:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working on Agile methods and experience in using ServiceNow Agile and test management module
  • Experience with retail or wholesale systems and applications
  • Experience with vendor management
  • Knowledge of business processes and demands in various areas to retail and wholesale
  • Knowledge in current and future technologies which can be applied to business demands

 

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. combined with remote work arrangements in response to COVID-19
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
