Job Description:

The Planning & Enablement team is part of the Client Experience Office (CXO) and provides program and project management services, business analysis and support to the CXO organization.

The Business Consultant (BC) provides support and analysis through project-oriented work. The BC is accountable for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business needs for internal teams as well as external clients, creating detailed test cases and executing business acceptance testing to ensure solutions deliver quality results. This role will be accountable for analyzing and investigating issues in order to determine the root cause. In addition, the BC will be required to recommend options and help define the end state of outcomes to meet stakeholder needs and business expectations.

What will you do?

  • Identify and assess business impacts and risks, solve complex issues, provide recommendations on options, and help define end state of desired changes
  • Working with business partners, ensuring business needs are well understood to drive optimized solution development
  • Design and lead business acceptance testing including preparation of test plans, execution of test cases, documentation of results and lead resolution of defects
  • Build use cases and confirm purpose, usage patterns, audiences, tools and processes to support them
  • Proactively recognize business trends and alignment with organizational policies that could affect business practices. Make recommendations for process improvements
  • Support change management, providing knowledge and expertise to communications, training, knowledge management collateral etc. 
  • Lead delivery of smaller initiatives.

What will be nice to have?

  • University degree or equivalent work experience
  • Process mapping and /or process improvement experience
  • 5-10 years of business analysis experience (processes & techniques)
  • Experience with technology and the ability to self-learn
  • Experience in supporting customer facing operations
  • Financial services / product experience and knowledge
  • Experience in Group Benefits, Individual Insurance and/or Wealth
  • Project management experience
  • Data and analytics, or IT experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
