Summer Intern - Financial Risk

 

As part of the Enterprise Risk Management team, you will be engaged and ready to support the team to develop and implement the fraud risk management program and key risk indictors (KRI).

Part of the Enterprise Risk Management department’s role is to support the organization to reduce organizational risks, through systematic and disciplined risk management practices that enable organizational success. The Department is implementing a tailored Fraud Risk Management Program, as a subset of the overarching Enterprise-wide Risk Management Program to support the continued success of BGIS.

The Financial Risk, INTERN will be reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management (Global) and will work with various financial management teams (i.e. Accounting, Corporate Finance, Client Accounts, etc.) on managing risks. The intern will be embedded as part of the internal controls team in providing support in management of the risk management framework and reporting. This role is an exciting opportunity for students wishing to enter Risk Management / Financial Risk Management / Finance / Commercial Real Estate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with the Enterprise Risk Management Team, Regional Finance Managers and Controllers:

  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, and documents risk exposures and supports the development of action plans required to mitigate identified risks and taking into account jurisdictional issues, and raises any issues or concerns to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures effectiveness of the controls, reporting on risk assessments and reviews, ensuring the business management addresses any identified risks and control deficiencies and the provision of advice and guidance to management concerning the design, and operation of the business controls.
  • Builds awareness, knowledge, and skills and, as necessary, provides communication, practical tools and ongoing support including making presentations, to promote a culture of risk identification and management.
