Reporting to the Manager of Functional Operations in Application Operations, this role is responsible for the application administration tasks for the Oracle e-Business Suite (Financials, Projects, HRMS, and Payroll) production and test environment. This position involves operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting components of the core application technology underpinning the functional modules including application security/responsibilities, processing, alerts, workflow, etc.

Stantec offers a flexible work environment, and this role can be based out of any posted US or Canada location, in-office or remote.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform application security administration activities pertaining to aligning business roles to application access through roles, responsibilities, approvals, menus, functions, request groups, and profile options.
  • Perform batch process administration activities including defining, sequencing, scheduling, and monitoring the execution of concurrent programs using Automic Web Interface.
  • Perform primary workflow administration activities including monitoring, diagnosing and either resolving or escalating incidents/problems to appropriate support analysts or Agile teams.
  • Diagnose incidents/problems involving core application technology and configurations.
  • Collaborate with support analysts and Agile teams to address module-specific issues.
  • Define and document operating procedures for application administration activities that specify support requirements, service levels, known problems/workarounds, roles/responsibilities and incident/problem management procedures.
  • Develop operational solutions to prevent/detect application incidents/problems and respond to service requests to optimize application service levels.
  • Provide after-hours support on evenings and weekends to respond to application incidents/problems (i.e., processing failures) and either resolve or escalate incidents/problems as appropriate.
  • Maintenance of after-hours paging system (Splunk).
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to support IT access and change management controls in support of ITIL best practices and Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Provide off hours support for period close, year end and systems change activities.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Intermediate understanding of the application architecture underpinning Oracle e-Business Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail with a very methodical/procedural approach to work activities.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
  • Good understanding of finance principles, concepts and processes.

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in business, information systems or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Hands on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite in Projects, Financials.
  • At least 5 years experience in an application support role involving a complex batch orientated ERP environment, preferably with Oracle e-Business Suite.
  • 5 or more years equivalent work experience in a relevant business domain.
  • Experience with supporting and developing maintenance solutions for Oracle-based applications involving SQL, PLSQL, Oracle Forms, BI Publisher, etc.
  • Hands on experience with Automic Workflow Automation a plus.
