Position: Communications Coordinator, CTV, PR and Partnerships, Bell Media

Location: Bell Media Studios – 299 Queen St. W

Salary: Unifor 723M – Group C / Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 9 am – 5 pm shift with overtime and shifted scheduling as required. May be required to work the occasional weekend

 

Bell Media is looking for a Communications Coordinator to support internal and external communications for CTV original and acquired programming, and PR & Partnerships initiatives. Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Manager, PR, CTV, and the Manager, PR & Partnerships, the Communications Coordinator position supports the day-to-day communications efforts for CTV and Bell Media
  • Work with the CTV Communications team to align, incorporate, and communicate key messages, talking points, and corporate positioning in media materials for CTV publicity priorities
  • Draft and edit The Lede stories, along with other publicity materials including releases, bios, backgrounders, etc., for external and internal communications purposes
  • Assist in the planning and execution of strategic publicity campaigns to garner frequent, positive coverage, including working with publicists, and arranging logistics for media junkets
  • Working with the Publicists to manage consistent and ongoing social media strategy for @CTV_PR, including both Original and Acquired Programming
  • Maintain and further develop strong working relationships with key media and influencers across Canada through regular contact
  • Work closely with partners (distributors, studios, producers) to arrange and distribute assets to internal and external stakeholders and media
  • Review all Public Service Announcement requests internally and from external charities and work with traffic to handle requests
  • Oversee the local Toronto community partnership portfolio for CP24 and CTV Toronto
  • Handle all on-air talent requests and appearances for local Toronto newsroom talent
  • Assist with developing creative assets and tracking executive involvement for major industry partnerships (ex. Banff, Canadian Screen Awards, etc.)
  • Manage administrative tasks and duties, including coordinating meetings, system filing for talent appearances and files, and more
  • Oversee internship program, including posting the job on various university/college program platforms, onboarding, mentorship, and more
  • Monitor social media for a range of issues and feedback
  • Scan/compile media coverage and prepare internal reports; Update media lists
  • Support Bell Media’s broader events and initiatives, including Bell Let’s Talk Day
  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field required
  • Minimum of one year experience in communications or publicity within the media/entertainment industry preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to liaise professionally with members of the media, on-air personalities, producers, and other internal and external contacts
  • Must be detail-oriented and resourceful, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Must be highly organized and have strong administrative skills, with the ability to juggle numerous projects simultaneously while supporting team priorities
  • Strong social media knowledge and interest in Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, among others
  • Must have computer software knowledge and experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with Photoshop skills an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
