Reporting to the Site Environmental Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting construction activities for compliance with permits, acts, environmental work plans and project commitments. The primary scope of work will consist of monitoring plant construction and the effect that work may have on environmental factors. Role is predominantly field based with office support for administrative component.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct field inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with the permit conditions, project commitments and Construction Environmental Management Plan (CMEP).
• Enter field inspection findings into the project electronic database.
• Conduct or participate in audits and assessments.
• Collect soil and water samples using scientifically approved methodologies.
• Conduct fish, wildlife and vegetation surveys and baseline assessments.
• Work with environmental specialists, construction supervision and subcontractors to assist with work planning and implementation.
• Provide technical input to construction teams to expedite work activities.
• Develop environmental work plans to support construction activities.
• Participate in Environmental Hazard Assessments.
• Participate in or lead incident investigations, when required
• Work independently and in a cross disciplinary team environment.
• Interacts and interfaces with client’s environmental team.
• Other duties as assigned
