Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking qualified applicants with specialized expertise for the position of DevOps Solution Architect. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in the execution of technology solutions that fit with client needs and identified outcomes. This position requires you to creatively leverage new and innovative technologies and successfully implement solutions for our external clients and our business. You will be responsible for the delivery of professional services which include providing business analysis and recommending solutions to complex strategic challenges across our large global team, spanning IT, operational business lines, and the Office of Innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the technology environment and participate in technology selection.
• Collaborate with the IT team to meet and exceed compliance requirements for cloud system security.
• Contribute best practices and guidelines for supported technologies including Data ResidencyGovernance.
• Re-architect legacy applications (Microsoft stack) to make them scalable, and satisfactory for end-users using Service Oriented Architecture.
• Design and implement an orchestrated automation framework for provisioning, deployment, and managing Global Azure / physical infrastructure.
• Lead technical teams to design customer-facing enterprise-class applications that deliver robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
• Apply knowledge and maturity, effectively resolve technical issues and support the broader team. Mentor and guide DevOps team members to arrive at complex solutions.
• Manage and monitor servers, storage, network, and security components of system landscapes.
• Enable the product and infrastructure engineering teams to build our world-class cloud platform while protecting internal and customer data.
• Perform multi-disciplinary research on complex systems including networks, systems, servers, endpoints, and hardware/software.
• Create and maintain scalable architecture designs that will be leveraged across multiple platforms and solve for shared needs across business requirements and tools.
• Provide Data and API technical architecture design, documentation, standardization, and prototyping for high-demand and high-visibility proprietary platforms.
• Work with program group leads on their IT needs (Applications Development, IoT, Digital Twin Engineering) analyzing, extracting, normalizing, and labelling relevant data.
• Collaborate with our professional services engineers to operationalize customer models after they are prototyped.
• Multi-task and work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and priorities
• Communicate verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams,
• Recommend and design the project framework including system, technical,l and security architecture

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Expert problem solver with a strong understanding of the broad range of software technologies and architecture design, planning, configuring & managing resources in Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.Experience with the following:

• Architecting, designing, and building highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability using Azure services.
• Developing strategies to bring new applications into code deployment pipelines and automating them.
• Deploying and supporting critical applications on cloud-native microservices architecture, using Data factory, Data Lake, Data bricks, IoT hub, Machine Learning, and API Management services.
• Working in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) – creating CI/CD Pipelines using Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM, and Ansible.
• Deploying and managing containerized applications, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) serverless Kubernetes, an integrated continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) in an Agile environment.
• Enterprise-level security services, governance, protocols, building, automation, and deploying IAM (Identity Access Management) policies - methods such as firewalls, OAuth2, SSO & SAML, and Azure Active Directory B2C & B2B, multi-factor authentication protocol, federated identity.
• Automated security tooling such as vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, and prevention, networking & cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools., Strong scripting skills such as Azure PowerShell, Python, Bashandknowledge of Hashi Corp tools (Nomad/Consul/Vault/Packer).
• Strong understanding of Data Residency Governance.
• Ability to work with multiple development teams on gathering functional requirements and on the subsequent implementation of their release pipelines.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in software development, engineering, or a related specialization
• 8 years of related work experience.

Certificates (preferred):

• MCSD (Azure Solutions Architect) or MCSE (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure)
• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
