Fluor’s Calgary office requires an Intermediate GIS Specialist to join our team for an opportunity to work on our exciting projects based in Western Canada. As part of a GIS team, the candidate will be responsible for GIS related activities in support of engineering on major E&C projects in Western Canada. Activities will include but are not limited to GIS mapping, analyses, and data management. The candidate will have a strong background and understanding in linear referencing methods, cartographic mapping, and spatial data management using ESRI ArcGIS software. The candidate will have strong problem solving skills and a technical understanding in using GIS to compliment complex engineering decisions.

Job Description:

• Responsible for integration, validation and manipulation of spatial data.
• Responsible for performing Spatial Analysis tasks in support of an engineering design project.
• Responsible for the production of mapping products in support of an engineering design project.
• Responsible for Data Mining and tasks related to gathering spatial data requirements.
• Create and manage enterprise web applications and web services (Enterprise and AGOL).
• Create and manage spatial data in an enterprise database management system environment (i.e. SDE).
• Participate in a multi-discipline collaborative environment.
• Ability to work under indirect and direct supervision.
• Participate in the promotion of GIS technologies internally and externally within Fluor and client organizations.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve complex tasks using GIS.
• Provide support and training to non-GIS disciplines in accessing and using web applications and mobile devices related to GIS.
