Product Manager, Global Business Payments, US Deposit Products - Toronto, ON

 

Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Global Business Payments in North America ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for managing Global Business Payment’s US-based deposit product portfolio to drive revenue, growth and customer satisfaction by:
    • Collaborating with Operations, Technology, Sales, Pricing, AML, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to articulate the product vision, including the customer impacts, business/stakeholder value, system dependencies and technological processes
    • Ensuring products are performing as expected and resolving issues that arise in a timely manner with updates to partners and escalations to management as required
    • Owning the end-to-end product roadmap and ensuring accountable stakeholders are operating to the agreed responsibilities
    • Determining where product gaps may exist with respect to customer needs, competitive offerings, and trends
    • Understanding the voice of the customer and front-line staff to improve product quality
    • Overseeing product marketing and communications for customers and staff
    • Providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to partners as required 
  • Review financials, key performance indicators, and trends for:
    • Determining key product opportunities and resolving issues
    • Owning the P&L of the product and recommending business opportunities based on data
    • Working with pricing teams, partners, and operations teams to drive revenues and improve efficiencies
    • Maintaining a high-quality market intelligence program including the competitive landscape, customer needs, and external stakeholder management
    • Validating special pricing requests and RFP opportunities 
  • Relationship / Stakeholder / Vendor Management:
    • Managing partner, business line, sales and vendor relationships for the portfolio 
    • Strategic engagement and influencing of stakeholders to manage prioritization and change delivery
    • Preparing timely status updates, reports, and presentations to executives and partners
    • Keeping projects moving with a sense of urgency by actively participating in the project team, sprint reviews, and driving milestones
    • Operating with curiosity to challenge the status quo to improve the product P&L 
    • Effectively communicating product updates to sales and partner teams 
    • Managing communications and sales collateral for customers and staff
    • Providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to partners as required 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 
We'd love to work with you if you have:    

  • University Degree in business/commerce, or relevant industry and functional experience (MBA an asset)
  • 3+ years of business banking or cash management experience in product management or sales 
  • Knowledge of US-based deposit products, industry trends and practices, policies and procedures an asset Skilled in analyzing data, identifying trends and formulating strategic/tactical insights 
  • Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative; able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiating skills
  • A positive attitude combined with confidence to drive team priorities, and are enthusiastic, detailed, self-motivated, inclusive and results oriented
  • Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset
  • Understanding of financials with prior P&L management experience an asset 
  • Experience developing presentations, strategic plans, business cases and working in cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
