SUMMARY 

The Program Manager, Interiors is responsible for planning, developing, delivering and reporting on the program of projects that will be assigned to Team Members within their assigned service category. The Program Manager works closely with other Program Managers, the Program Director, Account General Managers, Project Delivery and Professional Services partners to proactively drive innovation, resolve issues and identify opportunities for growth of the business while focusing on continuous improvement.  Projects to be delivered within scope, schedule, and budget according to BGIS as well as client procedural boundaries. Provide overall coordination/oversight for projects that involve various LOB or Product Lines.  Renovation projects, installations and/or new construction projects and other related projects are typically of high complexity, risk and exposure.  In addition, the Program Manager is also accountable for direct supervision of all assigned project team members.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

People Leadership

Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provides immediate supervision to assigned team members.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members and acts as a role model.
  • Participates in and provides input to recruitment, performance appraisals and training recommendations. 
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.
  • Utilizing and maximizing team skills with a focus on professional development.
  • Strives for 100% employee engagement and satisfaction through effective leadership, communication, administration and provision of tools and support including mentoring and team member development activities.
  • Participates in new team member onboarding to ensure a positive and consistent experience for new team members and consistency of training and onboarding to processes, tools and other materials.
  • Creates and/ or participates in training for team members.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Project Management

  • Effectively develops, oversees and manages the delivery of assigned programs of projects such as roll-outs across multiple locations, delivery of interrelated projects or single one-time projects. 
  • Ensures that program elements are properly assigned and resourced. 
  • Actively tracks and manages program progress, striving to ensure that projects are started with adequate lead time to complete within client time parameters and to meet BGIS and team needs with respect to work loading and overall financial considerations.
  • Manages projects and programs in accordance with legal requirements and BGIS processes including scope, schedule, financial, reporting, document, communications, risk, environmental, procurement & contracting, commissioning, close out and moves management.
  • Manages project delivery teams ensuring assigned projects and/or programs are delivered within fees, cost, and service-level goals.

Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Effective and proactive communication with all relevant stakeholders including account team members, clients, contractors, and industry bodies (as required) to ensure client satisfaction and BGIS’s success.
  • Prepares and works with the client and Program Director to develop business cases for projects yet to be approved.
  • Actively seeks additional services work to be performed by BGIS to mutually benefit the client and BGIS.
  • In the development and delivery of workplace solutions projects, identify best in class processes, governance, communication, risk management, etc.
  • Prepares proposals and responses to RFPs.  Participates in developing pricing models.
  • Develops strong internal relationships with other line of business leads in order to ensure alignment and promote and support integrated delivery of services – One BGIS.

Innovation

  • Continuously provides insight into how clients and project delivery team can be innovative with solutions.
  • Seek operational and cost efficiencies for both client and BGIS.
  • Be aware of current trends and industry innovations and provide recommendations for new service offerings or added value for clients and BGIS.
  • Incorporates sustainable design practices as well as diversity and inclusion and accessibility where practical into project delivery in accordance with BGIS processes.
  • Share learnings and best practices with Team Members.

Reporting & Resource Management

  • Provides reporting required to support BGIS and Client needs with respect to program execution.
  • Analyzes resourcing, project status, overall financial status and key performance indicators for client reporting & continuous improvement of delivery.
  • Effectively develops, oversees, and manages the delivery of assigned programs of projects   Ensures that program elements are properly assigned and resourced by project delivery teams.
  • Ensures proper and timely project and administrative-related reporting and systems inputs.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of annual capital plans, including milestone schedule and drives decision making for successful implementation.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Strong project management skills.

  • University graduation or professional certification.
  • More than five years up to ten years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Process & metrics interpretation, development & analysis skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project Estimating/forecasting skills.
  • Solid knowledge of corporate interiors construction methods, procedures and contract law.
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Good understanding of Employment Standards Act.
  • Financial understanding of costs, revenue, how to measure productivity and performance.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with Workplace Solutions industry standards and regulations.
  • Software proficiencies related to the assignment – AutoCad, BlueBeam, MS Excel, Project, Outlook;Visio; etc.
  • Specific experience and skills related to Workplace Strategy, Workplace Technologies, Change Management and Drawing & Occupancy is an asset.
  • Possesses a “Yes. and” attitude and Growth Mindset.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • BID or equivalent.
  • NCIDQ is an asset.
  • MCR.w. or equivalent courses.
  • Project Management Accreditation is an asset.
  • BCIN Large Buildings is an asset.
  • Change Management (Prosci or other recognized accreditation) an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle.
