Ensuring an inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, 2-spirit (LGBTQIA2S+) employees across Canada and the globe is an integral part of Accenture’s global commitment to inclusion and diversity. We are committed to raising awareness and educating our Accenture people about our LGBTQIA2S+ community, while simultaneously supporting our LGBTQIA2S+ employees worldwide. This commitment reflects our core values, which shape our culture, define our character and foster our ability to help our clients achieve high performance.

To increase the engagement of our LGBTQIA2S+ employees in local communities and geographies, we sponsor a global LGBTQIA2S+ Network and offer a support community for transgender employees. Accenture works to ensure that our global corporate policies and practices promote an inclusive environment for all, free of judgement, or discrimination.

Accenture is a strong corporate voice for LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion. In fact, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Accenture launched an initiative to help other businesses accelerate inclusion for LGBTQIA2S+ people. We are also a proud supporter of the UN standards of conduct for LGBTQIA2S+ employees. We are proud to be recognized as a corporate leader that supports LGBTQIA2S+ employees and the broader LGBTQIA2S+ community. Accenture’s commitment to supporting our LGBTQIA2S+ employees globally has contributed to a culture that drives innovation. By providing specialized training, networking support, and mentoring for our LGBTQIA2S+ employees, we not only multiply innovation and growth, we also help ensure a workplace of equality every day. ​

In Canada, our Pride at Accenture network is one of our most active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). This ERG has been instrumental in advocating for changes, activities, and sponsorships, including:

• Wide-ranging medical benefits for our transgender Canadian employees
• Joining the Tent Partnership for Refugees and the Human Rights Campaign in a commitment to provide mentorship and professional guidance to 50 LGBTQIA2S+ refugees in cities across Canada
• A commitment to providing all-gender washrooms at each of our Canada offices
• National participation in International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) with events across our Canadian offices and strong leadership support
• Offering LGBTQIA2S+ Leaders learning (L3) training to employees at all levels
• Fostering partnerships with outside organizations: The Aids Committee of Toronto, Lesbians who Tech, Montreal LGBTQIA2S+ Film Festival (Image+Nation) and the Inside Out film festivals
