We continue to make it a priority to attract, develop and retain a high performing global workforce that drives innovation and creates greater customer satisfaction. We’re also home to a growing organization called PROUD: Professionals Reaching Out for Unity and Diversity that was launched by employees. It aims to promote an inclusive workplace for all our employees, including our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally (LGBTQA) employees in order to ensure their full and unencumbered contribution to Manulife. There are over 700 active members from our locations in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Halifax, Montreal, Boston, and the Philippines. In 2016, John Hancock was named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality by Human Rights Campaign and received a 100 per cent rating for the second year in a row.
