University of Windsor

The University of Windsor sits on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. We acknowledge the need to continuously rebuild and strengthen the relationships with Indigenous peoples, in particular the First Nations people in this place in the 100-mile Windsor-Essex peninsula and the straits – les détroits – of Detroit.

The University of Windsor is a comprehensive, student-focused university, with more than 16,000 students enrolled in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs.

We have strong student-faculty relationships, exceptional award-winning faculty and innovative staff. It creates a unifying atmosphere of excellence across all of our faculties to encourage lifelong learning, teaching, research and discovery.

Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The University of Windsor is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within its learning, teaching, research and work environments. The University’s commitment is demonstrated by continuously strengthening its policies, practices, and programs, including developing initiatives to address gaps and barriers, especially those that are in marginalized groups. Most recently, the University established the Office of the Vice-President, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, that focuses on creating an inclusive University community for all students, staff and faculty.
