A new role in the team, this role is responsible for the day to day operational management and coordination of a) procedures to ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations in jurisdictions where the business operates;  b) freight between sites in the Costa network, from external suppliers and to end customers.  The team manages import and export movements for all Costa sales channels (retail, PTS, At Home, RTD), and now also includes all International Express sales.

 A bit about the role...

Reporting to the Global Trade and Customs Compliance Senior Manager you’ll be required to support with the coordination of freight between sites in the Costa network, from external suppliers and to end customers.  You’ll also ensure trade compliance documentation/data is submitted to the relevant authorities as part of the border pre-clearance, clearance or post importation processes. Specifically, through direct reports, this includes all supporting documentation for the export of composite food and beverages and Food Contact Materials, the management and auditing of required commodity codes, the validation of all master data to facilitate smooth customs clearance.  You’ll also -

 Develop and implement export and import processes to support compliant customs declarations, payment of customs duties and taxes and ease of goods movement through border control points. Lead initial resolution of any Trade Compliance challenges and Customs issues.

• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a way supporting the TCCC and Costa policy requirements and locally, in-country applicable regulations.
• Evaluate and recommend new customs/trade compliance opportunities to enhance business performance
• Manage and coordinate freight collections as per required schedules with Freight suppliers.  Continuously and effectively engage key stakeholders’ operations, warehouse to co-ordinate collections to meet the required collection/delivery date and times as provided.

• International Freight/Customs/Trade Compliance experience across all modes of transport (cross border trucking, domestic trucking, ocean freight, airfreight, Full Loads and Part Loads)

• Knowledge of purpose and content of documents of international trade and non-tariff requirements
• Customer focused and a strong relationship builder
• Highly numerate with Excel skills to an intermediate level
• Ability to work under pressure maintaining a high level of attention to detail and thoroughness
• Experience of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment

 Location: Dunstable Bedfordshire, but we’re OK with you working from home if you’re OK to travel to our Head Office twice a week.
