We are looking for a Health and Safety Specialist (the "Safety Specialist") to join our Health and Safety team. The Safety Specialist will provide direct support in planning, implementing, communicating, and maintaining the Company's health and safety program and project safety plans.

Working collaboratively with management and project teams across multiple GTA projects, the main responsibilities of our Safety Specialist will be to:

  • Promote a safety culture that exceeds Company and industry expectations; 
  •  Coordinate all health and safety training by identifying needs, including providing the training, and/or sourcing external facilitators;
  • Conduct site-specific safety orientation to workers, owners, clients, and subcontractors; 
  • Develop workplace plans such as emergency evacuations, fire emergency, traffic controls, fall protection, and others as needed;
  • Mediate health and safety issues for resolution; and 
  • Maintain updated health and safety records and documentation in accordance with Company standards.

About our Safety Specialist

Our Safety Specialist is someone who has at least 3-years of experience in the high-rise residential construction sector in a Health and Safety role. They thrive under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. They are able to work independently, with limited supervision. They must possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving to sites across the GTA.

  • Post-secondary education in Health & Safety or equivalent
  • Completion of WHMIS and Working at Heights training
  • Possess National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification
  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Strong knowledge of the Regulations for Construction Project
  • Able to lift 50 lbs+
  • Walk up and downstairs and around construction sites 
  • Previous experience in the field and working in extreme outdoor environments (cold winter and hot summer months).
