POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the function that communicates with the Canadian automotive and non-automotive media. Formulate and execute strategies to maintain and enhance the brands reputation and awareness amongst key influencers and opinion leaders. Represent the brand appropriately and positively within a variety of channels and promote complementary initiatives with the objective of increasing the positive visibility of the Genesis brand and products.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manage corporate and product PR outreach functions and projects on behalf of the Genesis brand in co-operation and conjunction with other team members (e.g. product planning, executive etc).
• Devise and execute new product and corporate initiative public relations plans and strategies.
• Develop a modern and progressive PR strategy for the Genesis brand, reflecting new communications channels, trends and measurement methodologies. Proactively generate stories and solicit coverage about the brand, products, services, industry trends, testimonials, programs, and events in print, online and other broadcast outlets.
• Develop relationships and interact with automotive and non-automotive media contacts and opinion leaders regarding the Genesis brand, its product and company initiatives, to ensure positive inclusion or exclusivity in appropriate feature articles and broadcast pieces.
• Determine prioritization of contacts and measurability criteria for key contacts and channels.
• Represent the brand as chief spokesperson. Develop key messaging and circulate company-wide for alignment working with dependent departments.
• Crisis management communications department lead.
• Organize and coordinate all aspects of press conferences and special events.
• Manage the Company’s fleet of press vehicles and other assets to maximize positive media reviews through efficient utilization.
• Evolve and manage the Company's media website, ensuring content meets the unique needs of the automotive press.
• Evaluate PR proposals and provide recommendations with sound rationale.
• Create and oversee PR programs, events, and initiatives that secure coverage and positive impressions of the Company in non-automotive media.
• Develop corporate communications including press kits, speech writing, interview preparation and notes, question and answer sheets and press releases.
• Advise, recommend and manage all aspects of the Corporate Social Responsibility program and ongoing strategy including messaging, customer-facing material, media coverage, employee engagement and business partner engagement.
• Implementation and management of systems and processes to circulate, evaluate, value and record media coverage. Create trend analysis and monitor commentary on core subjects of interest, highlighting opportunities and issues across the organization.
• Departmental budget planning, control and administration.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in the same or similar positions. Completion of an undergraduate degree.... or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Exemplary oral and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of Canadian and global media and trends.
• Knowledge of Public Relations best practices.
• Excellent project management skills/logistics.
• Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility best practices.
• Demonstrable track record of generating positive, measurable and opinion changing initiatives
• Bi-linguality a distinct advantage
