The University of Windsor's Leddy Library invites applications for a Permanence-Track E-Resources Librarian position, commencing as early as July 1, 2022.  Salary will be commensurate with experience up to a rank of Librarian II.  This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Leddy Library is an integral participant in the delivery of academic programmes and the pursuit of research at the University of Windsor. The Library maintains a broad collection of e-resources for the University of Windsor community in support of teaching, learning and research.   Our digital collections are comprised of a diverse range of content including journals, e-books, streaming services, aggregator packages, open access, and primary source resources.  For further details about Leddy Library, visit our website at http://www.leddy.uwindsor.ca.

Reporting to the Head of Acquisition/Bibliographic Services, the E-Resources Librarian will take a lead role in the development and management of Leddy’s e-resources collections including acquisition, licensing, discoverability, access & accessibility, administration & support. The successful applicant will be a key participant in an ongoing strategy of e-resource management to address current and developing needs in support of research, teaching and learning, which includes collaboration and consultation with Leddy librarians, administration and staff. This includes providing ongoing evaluative mechanisms for collections management and input on forward planning for e-resources with respect to budgetary impacts. In addition, the e-resources librarian will consult with campus partners to evaluate and recommend e-resource acquisitions, foster effective vendor relationships, and liaise with consortial partners such as OCUL and CRKN.

Throughout their career, Leddy librarians serve in a variety of professional roles within the library. The Leddy Library is an active partner in teaching and research at the University. Librarians engage in service to the University, service to the profession, and research/scholarship/creative activity in addition to their assigned responsibilities. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion and the ability to work with a diverse student, staff and faculty population.

An ALA-accredited MLS (or equivalent) is required for this position. The successful candidate will have experience in the acquisition, configuration, evaluation and use of e-resources in a university and/or academic environment.  They will possess a strong understanding of current and emerging trends in e-resource management and delivery, including the role of consortial partnerships in e-resource collections.  Excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will have an understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion and the ability to work with a diverse student, staff and faculty population. The successful candidate will exhibit resourcefulness, innovation, and flexibility in meeting user needs, will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a comfort in and ability to adapt to a changing structure and environment.
