POSITION OVERVIEW
The Compliance and Launch Planning Specialist directly reports to the Manager, Product Management with functional reporting to the Manager, Compliance and the Director of Product and Corporate Strategy. This position will be responsible for tracking sales and forecasting of current and future alternative powertrain entries in order to achieve the Company’s strategic and Green House Gas (GHG) objectives. Additionally, this role will be responsible to coordinate the program management activities around launch and lifecycle management for each vehicle.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Report on Hyundai and Genesis brands’ GHG compliance trajectory and advise senior leaders and Product Team to ensure the company to remain compliant
o Communication with Hyundai America Technical Centre Inc. (HATCI) for all emissions compliance-related matters
• Prepare GHG and ZEV status reports for improved internal communication on a regular basis.
• Regularly maintain the GHG model forecast model based on long-term product/sales strategy within the latest Federal and Provincial Government environmental regulations
o Reporting on British Columbia and Quebec ZEV requirements
o Reporting on full model line for National GHG
o Executive and adhoc reporting
• Build business/portfolio scenario analysis based on all environmental compliance aspects (i.e. GHG, ZEV, etc.) to best advise senior leaders on key business decisions
o Maintain reporting to handle compliance for BC, PQ, and National programs
o Use market data by province to forecast national
• Support business initiatives of negotiating and selling GHG/ZEV credits to other automotive OEMs in order to optimize revenue generation while ensuring compliance
o Leveraging the short and long range sales forecasting
• Maintain appropriate communication with international stakeholders for advanced
information on GHG, which could require profound technical understanding about GHG credit generation mechanism
• Perform strategic analysis to support future goals, actions and business/product strategies that complies with regulations
• Stay current on Canadian environmental regulations and the impact on Hyundai Canada portfolio
• Identify and coordinate joint milestones and deliverables for all vehicle launches
• Maintain tracker on lifecycle key performance indicators for each model
• Build and maintain yearly launch schedules for all vehicles
• Act as a liaison with all internal departments to gather weekly/monthly launch
updates
• Ensure launch deadlines are being met in conjunction with vehicle launch timing
• Facilitate weekly/monthly update meetings to provide progress updates and ensure all launches are on track against timelines. This includes a monthly review with the Executive Team at Hyundai Auto Canada
• Maintain a schedule of department assets so that they can be made available for business requirements of Launch Committee.
• Attend launch committee meetings with Hyundai USA and report back to internal departments at Hyundai Auto Canada
• Involved in pre-production vehicle ordering process, tracking vehicle usage, and disposal
• Monitor and maintain vehicle fleet to ensure regular service guidelines a being followed
• Involved in lifecycle enhancements for vehicles and technology
• Leverage Launch Committee Meetings to target specific models on a regular basis

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Completion of an undergraduate degree …or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• 5+ years of relevant experience in same or similar function with automotive experience being desirable

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Good understanding of the automotive industry and competitive landscape
• Assertive team player, ability to positively influence without direct authority to drive
deliverables
• Experience working with unstructured datasets and disparate data sources
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint; confident
with intermediate functions, modelling and dashboard creation
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented, self-starter and forward thinking
• Excellent written, verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic with internal motivation to succeed
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset but not required
